Pirates Breakdown proudly announces the release of our new mobile apps, available today.

When we launched Pirates Breakdown in December of 2015, our mission was simple: to connect Pittsburgh Pirates fans to their favorite team in unique ways.

The introduction of our new Mobile Apps gets fans closer to their favorite Pirates coverage than ever before. Read on to learn about some of the features of our new app – or, if you just can’t wait, click the corresponding app store for your device and grab your copy now.

Easy Navigation

app-first-openOne of the first things that we wanted to focus on in our app is easy navigation. To that end, when you open the app you will see a full listing of the most recent posts to Pirates Breakdown. On the hunt for the latest news, or perhaps you might want to spend some time with our latest editorial? Simply scroll through the categories at the top, or tap the menu at the top left to see the entire listing. Easy!

Notifications The Way You Want Them

app-notificationsThe Pittsburgh Pirates are a team full of storylines, and that has never been more true than during the current off-season. To that end, you need to stay updated on the latest Hot Stove happenings. With our app’s notification system, you can customize the amount and type of notifications you will receive. The default setting notifies you every time a piece of content is published by PBD – recommended – but is easily customizable in the app’s settings.

Readability. Now And Forever

When this site first launched, we designed it with the reader in mind. We focus on bringing you the best reading experience possible. Our app is a natural extension of this approach, with easy readability while not stopping short with the informative graphics, tables, tweets, and stats you have come to expect from us.

Easier Than Ever to Share and Comment

Pittsburgh Pirates fans are passionate. That passion manifests itself in the ever-growing Pirates community, both on this site and social networks. We strive to not only provide great Pirates content, but to help push the conversation forward. Our app features built-in sharing native to your platform. Have a Twitter or Facebook app installed and want to share a post to those networks? Easy. With just a few taps you can start your own conversation regarding your favorite team. Or, start the debate right here on our pages with built-in Disqus commenting – same as on the site itself.

Available Now

We here at Pirates Breakdown are absolutely thrilled with the release of our mobile apps for iPhone and Android. We find it very fitting that these are released just one year (more or less) after our launch.

The fact that we are here discussing this launch has everything to do with the fantastic readership that has supported us since Day One. Without your support, none of this would be possible.

From our team to you, thank you, and we hope you enjoy the apps!
