Welcome to Pirates Breakdown – your go-to source for quality Pittsburgh Pirates news, opinion and analysis.

Jason Rollison – Co-Founder/Editor In Chief
Jason Rollison has been analyzing baseball and the Pirates in one way or another for 4+ years.
Jason previously was the editor-in-chief of rumbunter.com, a popular Pirates site on the fansided network. In one year Jason established RB as a legitimate source for an objective look at the club while setting pageview records.
When it comes to analyzing baseball, he likes to take a middle-of-the-road approach, with one foot on the analytics side of the fence and the other on the old-school side. Having said that, he is a sucker for pitchf/x. Jason has appeared as a phone-in and in-studio guests in numerous outlets, including a variety of ESPN Radio stations from across Pennsylvania, and also 93.7 The Fan (CBS Sports Radio). He provides freelance coverage of the Pirates for a variety of print outlets, and also covers several Minor League Baseball teams in print.
Tyler Waite – Co-Founder/Managing Editor – Follow @Tyler_Waite1
Tyler is a data analyst by day and an aspiring sports writer by night. He is fascinated by the analytical side of the game, and wants to impart his analysis to Pirate fans everywhere. Tyler has appeared on numerous radio outlets throughout his writing career, and has
Steve Kubitz – Co-Founder/Podcast Producer/Editor– Follow @SteveKubitz
Steve Kubitz was born and raised in the Stanton Heights neighborhood of Pittsburgh, PA. He is a long time and annoyingly positive baseball fan. He bought into the Pirates’ 5-year-plan before it was cool. The only thing he isn’t positive about is the wave during close ballgames. Steve wears a variety of hats for PBD, but leans on his experience as an accomplished radio producer to take a lead role with Pirates Breakdown Radio.
Jose Negron – Assistant Editor – Follow @JNegron_13
Jose Negron is a 23 year old journalist from the North Huntingdon area. A recent graduate of California University of Pennsylvania, Jose is also a Staff Writer for the Mon Valley Independent. He has written for Rumbunter and Pirates Breakdown for the past year. Jose is the former Editor in Chief and Sports Editor of Cal U’s campus newspaper, the Cal Times, and is a former TribLive Radio Intern.
Ethan Obstarczyk – Follow @EObstarczyk
Ethan is a lifelong baseball fan who resides in the east end of Pittsburgh. When not talking about, writing about or watching baseball, he also enjoys watching football and hockey along with movies and listening to some of his favorite bands. He can also be found on Untappd (Ethan_O)
Joy Frank-Collins – Follow @JoyFC
Joy Frank-Collins is a Communications professional who got her start writing as a journalist at a daily newspaper in southeastern Ohio. She was born in Reds country, but “found” baseball watching the 1986 Mets win the World Series. She lives in Marietta, Ohio, with her family, who all share her passion for Pirates baseball. She loves the suicide squeeze, a crisp 6-4-3 double play and catchers (especially Russell Martin). When not obsessing over baseball, Joy likes to work out, travel and drink wine
TJ is a Shenandoah Valley resident in Virginia and has a Bachelor of Science degree from Bridgewater College. He has been analyzing the Pirates since 2009. TJ is also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan. He is married and a University of Virginia sports fan.
Jarrod Prugar – Follow @JPrugar26

Sean Riley is a lifelong Pirates observer who now resides in Portland, OR. He is a former executive of several major companies and a published author. His current passion is balancing statistics and good old-fashioned “feel” to provide insight into the game of baseball. Sean is married to a great gal and the father of two amazing boys.
Matt is a life long baseball fan with both a newspaper and radio background. Before coming to Pirates Breakdown he was most recently the co-owner and lead columnist for Pittsburgh Sporting News. He also has written for plenty of other sports and fantasy sports websites.
